Dexamethasone 0.4% (4mg/ml) Solution
|

Dexamethasone is a very effective and potent steroidal antiinflammatory
agent. It can be substituted for hydrocortisone and used in smaller
quantities with more satisfying and efficient results. It has a biologic
half-life of 36-54 hours and is 35 times stronger than hydrocortisone. The
dexamethasone solution made by Columbine Drug
is pure dexamethasone sodium phosphate. This is put into solution with
purified water and is buffered to a pH of 8.4 and may be used with or
without "buffered" electrodes.
If you are presently using injectable dexamethasone vials, you will be
interested to know that because it is an injectable, it contains
preservatives and other chemicals that produce ions that compete with the
dexamethasone, thereby inhibiting full penetration at the target site. In
addition, needles are required to withdraw the solution from the vials.
OSHA hates needles! Our product is dispensed with an Adapt-A-Cap which
eliminates the use of needles and the solution is withdrawn easily using a
needleless syringe.

Lidocaine 4% Solution

| Used in iontophoresis as a local
anesthetic to reduce pain at the site of inflammation. This may be
pre-mixed with the dexamethasone at a 2:1 ratio.

| Epinephrine 1:1000 Solution |
| This is a very powerful vasoconstrictor.
It is used in combination with other drugs to allow the target drug to
stay on site longer, thereby increasing its therapeutic action. Pre-mixing
is not recommended, but it may be mixed at the time of treatment.
